Our Pellet Activated Carbon is produced from selected anthracite, wood, coconut shell or bamboo by high-temperature steam activation and manufactured with suitable binders under stringent quality control. Pellet AC has a low ash content, large surface area, high mechanical strength, extended pore volume, and chemical stability. These characteristics make it ideal for many gas phase applications. The cylindrical uniformity of its shape makes it particularly useful in applications where there is a likelihood of a low-pressure drop over granular activated carbon. It is ideal for removing a variety of contaminants from air and gas streams, the recovery of solvents, and for evaporative emissions controls.
Its typical applications include environmental air treatment, gas-phase purification, air filtration, biogas filtration, odor control, and the removal of toxic organic impurities in natural gas. Activated carbon is the safest and most effective technology for removing volatile organic compounds, chemicals in the air, gaseous pollutants, and other smoke and odors from industrial, municipal or commercial applications.
Standard available mesh sizes: (or as the clients’ requirement)
9.00 mm, 4.00 mm, 3.00 mm, 2.00 mm, 1.5 mm and 0.80 mm
Pelletized activated carbon is created by extruding activated carbon into cylindrical shaped pellets with diameters ranging from 0.8 to 5 mm. Their high activity and surface area make it ideal for many vapor phase applications. The uniformity of its shape makes it particularly useful in applications where low-pressure drop is a consideration.
Clarkson Carbon Corporation manufactures many pellet types of activated carbon products, each specifically designed to provide a unique pore structure and adsorption properties.
By varying manufacturing conditions, internal pore structures are created that impart unique adsorption properties specific to each product type. The choice of product for a specific application will vary due to differing impurities and process conditions.
The adsorptive capacity of pelletized carbon makes it ideal for removing a variety of contaminants from air and gas streams. Pellets are also an environmentally responsible product that can be reactivated through thermal oxidation and used multiple times for the same application.
