POWDER ACTIVATED CARBON (PAC)

Powdered Activated Carbon (PAC) is made from high quality coal, wood, bamboo, coconut shell or other nutshells. PAC is typically considered to have particles less than U.S standard 80 mesh size, which makes it ideal for liquid phase treatment.

Raw Material:Coal, sawdust, coconut shells, walnut shells, apricot shells, bamboo

Description

Powdered Activated Carbon (PAC) is made from high quality coal, wood, bamboo, coconut shell or other nutshells. PAC is typically considered to have particles less than U.S standard 80 mesh size, which makes it ideal for liquid phase treatment. Our PAC is a reliable, economical water treatment option for taste and odor control and removal of organic compounds. The use of PAC is beneficial economically and environmentally, since it reduces operating costs, produces minimal waste sludge, allows for the conservation of resources, and provides superior water quality.

Typical PAC applications include decolorization, purification, impurity removal and deodorization of food, beverages, alcoholic drinks and edible oil, enhancing the taste and safety of food. It is also built into the air purification system to adsorb volatile compounds and heavy metals.

Features & Benefits

Powdered activated carbons (PAC) are defined by the ASTM as particles passing through an 80-mesh sieve (0.177 mm) and smaller. Clarkson Carbon Corporation manufactures many types of powdered activated carbon products, each specifically engineered to provide a unique pore structure and adsorption properties.

By varying manufacturing conditions, internal pore structures are created by imparting unique adsorption properties specific to each product type. The choice of product for a specific application will vary due to differing impurities and proprietary process conditions.

The adsorptive capacity of Clarkson Carbon’s powdered activated carbon (PAC) makes it ideal for removing a variety of contaminants from water, air, liquids and gases. With efforts to be environmentally responsible, Clarkson Carbon can reactivate spent Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) through thermal oxidation to make “react” PAC.
